Hello Bombastic Believers!

We are back in the swing of things after getting back from our honeymoon a couple of weeks ago. We had a great trip but are very glad we are back to continue working on new stories and projects that we hope to share with you in the future. In this post, we’ll be talking about a few of the different things we’re putting together so make sure you read all the way to the end! We also want to talk about things that have been inspiring us, art that we thought was super creative, and shoutout an artist that has been captivating us recently. As with all of our updates, we hope you enjoy it and that it’s a bright-spot for your day!

1) Sticking to Our Guns -

From the Office of Diversification

This week, we wanted to show you some stickers that Pixie’s been putting together. We thought this could tide you over in the meantime as we continue to prepare a first look at what we’re really working on. Over the course of the next few months, we’ll be working on some dummy books that we will be shopping around to different children’s book publishers to see if we can get them made. After that, we’ll be hard at work developing our new web-comic that we can’t wait to share more about with you. In newsblogs to come, we will be making sure to show you sneak peeks of both the dummy books as well as the new web-comic that we hope to release sometime early next year. We are so excited to share our work to you soon. We can promise you that we’ll be sticking to what we do best, making great stories and other fun stuff you all will hopefully enjoy. Please make sure you keep your eyes peeled for all things Bear & Pixie as we give you a glimpse behind-the-scenes of our various projects here at the studio!

2) Not Even Gravity Can Bring this Story Down! –

From the Comics Division

This week we thought we’d do something different. Instead of recommending an animated movie or TV show, we wanted to talk to you about this amazing comic that we feel should get some more eyes on it. A few months ago, we had a comic book recommended to us that sounded like there was no way it couldn’t be awesome. That comic is Skyward. From Image Comics, this story follows a young girl who has grown up on an, almost, zero-gravity, Earth. After learning that her dad helped to take away Earth’s gravity, she is thrust into trying to fix what was done to Earth years ago all while trying to outrun her father’s old business partner who is trying to kill her before she does. This story really takes the idea of having little to no gravity to whole new levels by coming up with interesting ways humans move throughout the world, the effects low gravity has on animals and wildlife, and the psychological effects of what it’s like to live in a world without gravity. This story is a must read and you should totally check it out. We honestly hope that at some point this comic gets turned into an animated movie or show in the future. Heck, we would even love to be the people that help bring that version of this story to life! We’ll just have to wait and see what’s in store for us. In any case, this is a comic that is an absolute must-read in our opinion. Please show some love to this comic and make it a part of your collection for your reading pleasure! Link is below. 3) Artist Shout-Out

From the Department of Artist Relations

As you all know, we love to take a chance every newsblog and shout-out an artist in the community who really stands out to us. For this newsblog, we couldn’t think of anyone better than Bryn Jones. She has an amazing command of color, light, and shadow that is evident in every one of her pieces. Her art has this incredible ability to transport you to a new world. She also is exceptional at designing landscapes, creatures, and worlds that are perfectly suited for a fantasy-style story. We have been really captivated by her stuff lately and thought we should show off her art to you guys as well. Please go check out her Instagram and giver her a follow! Also, she likes to livestream on Twitch as she makes these superb pieces of art so check out her stream and show her some love. [We are not sponsored by Bryn Jones. We are only fans and genuinely wanted to give a shoutout.]

4) Doing What You Love

From the Division of Success and Determination

"The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.” – Aristotle

For this newsblog’s motivational section, I really wanted to talk about something that I’ve been experiencing as I live life. One of the things I have noticed as I move throughout my normal day is that the world around us is such an amazing place. Around every corner, there have been so many little moments I have seen that give me these little nuggets that I can’t help but incorporate into the stories that Pixie and I create. My advice for this newsblog, make sure to schedule time to go out and do things in the world! If you are having trouble as an artist, or a writer, trying to figure out what to create, there is no better place to find inspiration for your next project by looking at the world around you. Seriously, this is one of the best ways to cure writer’s/artist’s block. Not only that, but it’s something that every person truly needs. We all need some adventures in our lives as our experiences always informs our work. So, what are you waiting for? Go out and do some adventuring!

5) Gotta Draw Them All! -

From the Fandom Division

There was this amazing illustration that Pixie and I saw the other day which took every single Pokémon ever created and put it into one picture! Artist Yousuf Hasan took it upon himself to create a collage of all the Pokémon into one big photo and it is glorious. Yousuf also has a very interesting style to all his work that you can check out at his Instagram link below. Please give this guy at least a like, if not a follow, for putting together this awesome piece of art celebrating 25 years of Pokémon.
